Living Lighting Indoors & Out: Static vs. Dynamic

 

Luxury homes now blur indoor and outdoor living, but interior and landscape lighting are often designed separately. Interior lighting focuses on fixed spaces, using layered, controllable lighting to support different activities. Exterior lighting must respond to changing natural conditions—growth, seasons, and shifting views—creating cohesive nighttime environments rather than scene-based control. The key challenge is coordination: balancing interior and exterior light levels to reduce glare and reflections while improving nighttime views. The best results come from early collaboration between both disciplines to create a unified lighting experience across architecture and landscape.
